How I Work

What is Counselling?

Life can be complicated, and sometimes it helps to gain another perspective on what is going on. Counselling can give you the opportunity to understand yourself better, make sense of difficult experiences, and discover what matters most to you. Together we can explore where you are now, how you got here, and where you would like to go next.

What You Can Expect

Different Therapies

Talking Therapy

Talking therapy offers a dedicated time to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a safe and supportive setting. Together, we can work to better understand what is happening in your life, make sense of difficult experiences, and identify any changes you would like to make. Sessions are currently available online, allowing you to access counselling from the comfort and privacy of your own home.

Outdoor/Walk and Talk

For some people, being outdoors can make difficult conversations feel more natural. Walking side by side can sometimes make talking easier than meeting face-to-face or online. Being outside can also provide a natural and calming environment for reflection. Sessions take place at a pace that suits you, focusing on whatever feels important.

Creative Therapy

Somtimes it can be difficult to put our thoughts, feelings, and experiences into words. Creative counselling offers alternative ways of exploring what is important to you through the use of metaphor, imagery, objects, games, and other creative approaches. These approaches can help bring new understanding and perspectives to issues that might feel difficult to express through words alone.

What happens if you press send?

I will send you an email to let you know I've received your message, and to arrange a time for us to have an initial conversation, either via email, phone, or online, whichever you're most comfortable with.

The conversation is simply a chance for us to say hello and get to know each other, talk a little bit about what has brought you here, and see whether working together feels right for us both.

There is no obligation to continue, and you don't need to explain everything today, just a few words are enough.
